The Association Recognizes Best Achievers, May 4, 2012
The Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) awarded its best achievers who by far executed the Global Comprehensive Abortion Care Initiative (GCACI) project, one of the association’s intervention areas. During the ceremony held at the head office on May 4, 2012 a total of 15 Staff, 2 Area offices, 4 clinics and 2 youth centers awarded.
Based on the criteria set by the program department South West Area Office was selected first in achieving the comprehensive abortion care initiative followed by Central Area Office. Similarly from the clinic category Saris Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Clinic ranked first followed by Woldia, Asella and Nekemte SRH Clinics.
Opening the best achievers recognition day, FGAE’s Acting Executive Director, Ato Zena Dori said FGAE has worked hard to be SRH Training Hub in East Africa and to achieve its staff, management, board, partners and volunteers should work in unison.
Briefing the participants program director of FGAE, Ato Desta Kebede said the association prepared the recognition ceremony with the aim to motivate and recognize its staff and clinics who work a lot to achieve GCACI project and even to duplicate efforts to their colleagues and other branch clinics working in the same intervention.
The program director also added presenting thanks for employees for doing a good job, listening to them, specifying feedbacks, rewarding, celebrating on the good deeds among others are the major aspects that motivate any employees to succeed in their proceedings and the program department took them as criteria for selection.
Certificate of recognition to best selected youth centers and medium SRH clinics was handed over by Acting Executive Director, best service provider achievers by the program director and to those selected area offices by Emmanuel Obeng, IPPF Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor.
The program department of FGAE will focus on developing a comprehensive center administering the selection of best achievers, celebrating success and documentation and sharing of best practices as major plans to be executed in due course, it was known.
