Post Title: Area Manager - (for North Western Area Office)

Job Summary:  

Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Area Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to- day activities of the Area, directs and leads the Area to be regionally recognized as a credible and reputable institution of FGAE. He/She shall work closely with the Branch Executive Committee and controls the overall activities of FGAE in the region.

Being the focal person to institutionalize and manage the strategic plan of the organization, he/she coordinates with the staff, donors, local government institutions and individuals (private investors, volunteers) to ensure sexual and reproductive health and family planning rights are promote and facilitate the provision of quality services at Model Clinics, SRH Clinics and Youth Centers. He/she should work closely with the Executive Director, Director for Programs, Organizational Development & Management Director and Director for Finance & Admin and Area Managers.

 
Summary of Key Functions/Results Expected:  
  • Contribute to the establishment of policies and programs and sets approaches and strategize the implementation of programs and projects;
  • Plan, organize, direct and control the activates of the Area Office, Model clinic, SRH clinics and SRH Outreach Projects and Youth centers;
  • Initiate relevant guidelines relevant to the Area Office;
  • Closely work with Work Units to ensure that the Annual program Budget is well planned, understood, maintained and implemented effectively and efficiently in cooperative and collective ways;
  • Implement and follow-up performance management scheme
  • Ensure quality SRH service delivery at various service points in collaboration with the Head Office and Area Office staff;
  • Contributes to the improvement of SRH Programs and services and to strengthening ERH facilities at all levels;
  • Establish and oversee supports to CBRH and Youth programs are delivered timely
  • Pass and strategic and timely decisions
  • Initiate project ideas, resource mobilization activities, mechanism of raising local resources to ensure the sustainability of FGAE;
  • Ensure the establishment of necessary contacts with local institutions to facilitate the successful implementation of program activities;
  • Represent FGAE and the Area Office in events and important occasions;
  • Ensure financial, human and material resources are utilized effectively and efficiently according to the rules and regulations of the Association;
  • Play key roles to expand voluntary base of the Association;
  • Ensure training and capacity building programs are well organized, facilitated and conducted for the staff and others as required;
  • Approve, control and evaluate financial and material utilization of the Area Office in close cooperation with the respective Executive Committee;
  • Performs other duties as required.
 
Essential Qualities and Skills:  
  • Strategic oriented
  • Commitment to the vision, missions and Strategic Plan of FGAE
  • Conscious of Government policies and awareness of donor funding interests
  • Good leadership quality and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to withstand pressure and proven experience and ability to effectively manage a varied workload, working tight deadlines and schedules
  • Ability to make logical and timely decisions, to coach and mentor subordinates and to establish and maintain teamwork
  • Ability to mobilize volunteers
  • Function with minimum supervision, energetic and enthusiastic approach to work and willingness to travel to Work Units
  • NGO experience
 
Qualification: MPH/MSC/MA in Public Health, Sociology, Demography,Social Work, population studies and related fields of study.  
Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant and progressive experience in managing programs, projects, human, material and financial resources.  
Place of Work: Bahir Dar  
Salary: Attractive & as per the scale of the Association  
Terms of Employment: One year contract, renewable based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds
